Where In The World Is Chantal?
Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11:25 AM I'm right here! LOL I've been sooo busy lately, both with work stuff and family stuff. But I received an email from a friend/client wondering if I'm still alive. Yes I am! And I have SO MUCH to share and to post, I seriously do not know where to begin! The good news is, ALL THREE KIDS are now in school, so I have at least a few hours everyday when I can work UNINTERRUPTED (only parents who work from home can truly understand what a GIFT this is!!), so I should be able to make lots of blog posts over the next few weeks.
But I know you're still wondering what I've been up to, so below is a sneak-peak post, and a bit of a preview of what's to come in the next few weeks :)
:::I photographed a beautiful newborn baby girl named Madeleine a couple of months ago. I know she's a lot bigger now, but I still want to show off how adorable she is...

:::Shannon and Bill were married in a small private ceremony in their beautiful backyard back in June. They are planning a larger, Classic-50s style reception in October...complete with a martini bar (I am sooo there!). I can't wait to see them again next month!!

:::I've known Monik for a while, we go to the same church. So when I bumped into her at another Wedding I was shooting, I was so excited to hear that she was getting married! Monik and Rich were married just a few weeks ago and I had such a great time with them and their families....their complete wedding post will be up in a just a few days!

:::Candice and Chuck booked me for their Wedding last year, BEFORE I had any sample albums, BEFORE the fancy website, and really, before I had a ton of experience shooting weddings. But they had faith in my ability, and most importantly, my passion, and for that I am forever grateful to have their trust. Their Wedding is in November and if the fun we had together during their Engagement session was any indication, their Wedding is going to be AWESOME!! I can't wait to see them again soon....

:::I've been a photographer, of some sort, ever since high school (that's a LONG time for those of you counting), and over the years I've picked my camera up, set it own, picked it up, only to set it down for indefinite periods of time. It was during my husband's first deployment to Iraq 4 years ago that I vowed to pick up my camera once more and never look back. I was going to make this my career, no matter what. During that time, I decided to take a basic photography class. I was still shooting film, and I really wanted to get back into the darkroom and this particular class included free darkroom time (yay!). I LOVED the class, made some great friends, and subsequently took another class at the same place. This is where I met Cindy. She loves photography and probably owns more camera than I do! We've kept in touch over the years, she always emails me with these great stories about her travels to Europe with her husband :) And I was so thrilled when she asked me to photograph her and her husband Andy for their 10th anniversary....

:::When I met Danielle, I instantly knew that no matter what, I HAD to photograph her Wedding....but most importantly, I HAD to be her friend! Sometimes you meet people, you click, and then you just know, this is going to be a great friend. That's how I felt when I met Danielle and Jason, and I was so excited to photograph their Wedding over Labor Day weekend...

:::October is just around the corner, which is when Jennifer's Baby is due! As you probably know, I've been following Jennifer throughout her pregnancy, documenting the growth of her belly. We went on a baby-shopping trip, and I even photographed one of her Baby Showers! I may have missed a blog-post, but we haven't missed a session, and after shooting another Shower this weekend, a few more updates and then the birth of her baby, we will end with a newborn photo session and will conclude our project. Here is Jennifer at 30 weeks...... stay tuned for a 34 week update coming soon!!

So there you have! This is just a preview...I'll post more from each of these sessions in the coming week or two. I also have another amazing Wedding to shoot this weekend and some other fun things scheduled...AND some great photos of my KIDS!!! I'll be sure to get those posted soon too :) I also have a FANCY NEW WEBSITE that should be ready in just another week or so. Thanks for your patience, everyone!!
