Meghan & Brian

One of the great things about the slower winter months... besides warm tea under a blanket on a chilly afternoon... is that it's a great time for me to get caught up on all of the projects I'm working on and then blog them.  One of my favorite events of last year was Meghan and Brian's gorgeous wedding.  The wedding itself was absolutely stunning, but add that to the fact that I photographed Meghan's sister's wedding just two years before (almost to the day) and that just makes everything more special. I LOVE THIS FAMILY. And to be with everyone again, with the inclusion of Brian's incredible family...it was just a million reminders of why I love what I do.  I'll stop rambling and let the images speak for themselves...and there's a slideshow to follow...

**I have to thank my two 2nd shooters, Deb and Leslie, who helped me with this wedding.  They are both so fun and talented and amazing.  I'm so lucky to have great people to work with!!  Love you, ladies!! xoxo

Julie & Brad

The hardest part of doing what I do is finding the right words to talk about the couples I shoot.  I can't start every blog post with OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE COUPLE EVERRRR even though that's how I often feel.  I can't start every post with THIS WAS THE BEST WEDDING IN THE WORLDDD without sounding foolish...even though I may actually think it's true.  It's hard to express, sometimes, how much I loved a wedding, or a couple or how much I've enjoyed spending the day with a particual couple.

Sometimes I try to convince myself that I can actually write, but then I have trouble coming up with original ways of saying how much I love a particular shoot.  It's not just the words that don't come easily... I have trouble choosing the photos to share on this blog.  In a wedding with 800+ photos...where do I even begin choosing six or eight or ten to share?  Sometimes it's impossible.  The only thing I can do is just... be sincere about what's on my mind...

This past Fall I photographed Julie & Brad's wedding (see their fun engagement session HERE).  I'll be honest, it was a really hard day for me.  Just that morning my mom got really sick and we had to call the paramedics.  She was okay a short time later, and I was able to get to Julie's house to begin shooting...but when I started, my mind was elsewhere and my emotions were all over the place.

But it only lasted a moment.

As soon as I saw Julie's smile and saw how happy and excited her sisters were, I immediately felt better.  The love in this family is infectious and invites you in.  And seeing Brad and Julie together...I can't describe it.  But I'll say this~  I've photographed a lot of couples.  A lot of AMAZING couple who you just know are gonna be married forever, who are meant for each other.  Julie & Brad top that list.  They're special, and so was their gorgeous wedding.

There are certain factors that wedding photographers use to determine what 'makes' a wedding... such as location, the light, how at ease the people are in front of the camera.  This wedding was a triple threat.

I started picking out some pictures to post here, but there were too many to choose from, so I'll just post a few, then you can see more in the slide show~~

The light here was just so perfect, my goodness. I couldn't get enough of it...

Julie's sisters had me laughing and smiling the whole day... the camera loved them.  The entire wedding party was just a blast to work with, a really great group of friends and family.  They're lucky to have each other and I'm lucky to have been able to spend some time with them...

Amber & Nathan

On a chilly day like today I like to go back and revisit some shoots that I had when it was much warmer.  And looking at pictures of a sweet couple full of love for each other is a great way to feel warm all over.  I spent a steamy afternoon with Amber and Nathan during the summer for the engagement session...and by steamy, I mean HUMID...it was so hot and sticky, I was dying for a cold day like today!  But we had a lot of fun before it rained on us...

Then a few months later, it was still warm, but so not oppresively hot....and I shot Amber & Nathan's wedding.  It was a beautiful, late summer day and I couldn't imagine spending it with anyone else....
